Is it Hull Minster… or the Sistine Chapel?

Renaissance master Michelangelo spent four years of his life high up on scaffolding under the vaulted ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, painting one of the most famous frescoes in the world.  Hull Minster hosted a replica of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, which allowed a close-up view of Michelangelo’s brushwork.

Why not use paintings to ask your class questions about the Christian concepts of God and Creation?

The exhibition Battered and Berthed reflected on Hull’s relationship with the sea.  Works including The Dalit Madonna by Jyoti Sahi, explored the spirituality of Hull’s heritage.  Teacher Susie Steel wrote teaching resources:
